2023 Community Campaign – Giving Back to the Medal of Honor Recipients

Culture

The 2023 Community Campaign was a blast. This weeklong fundraiser ran from August 21st-24th. The nonprofit LaForce chose to donate to is the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Through games, lunches, donations, and more, we were able to raise more than $30,000 for CMOHS! Throughout the week, we had dress up themes, grab bags, an ice cream bar, a 52-club breakfast, a dunk tank, a bake sale, raffle baskets, company drawings, a bags tournament, scratch offs, 50/50, a guessing jar, bull naming, money wars, a cookout, and the finale lunch!

Green Bay, WI

Our Green Bay Office and several of our other LaForce locations throughout the United States supported the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for this year’s campaign. The Society’s membership is comprised of those who wear the Medal of Honor, the United States’ highest military award for valor. Through the Society’s Outreach, Education and History initiatives, the Medal of Honor Recipients continue their service across the nation.

Friday, August 18th

Friday’s festivities gave employees a preview of the week’s activities. They were invited to check out all the potential prizes, make donation pledges, and purchase event tickets. This year we had the chance to name a rodeo bull! Employees got to play scratch offs for prizes and put their tickets in the raffle baskets created and donated by departments.

Monday, August 21st

We officially kicked off campaign week on Monday with a cookout sponsored by ASSA ABLOY! We had two of our employees grilling brats and burgers for all. Allen Lynch, a Medal of Honor recipient, came and shared his story with LaForce employees at our cookout. This speech by Mr. Lynch was very moving and kickstarted a great week of donations and fun.

Tuesday, August 22nd

On Tuesday, we had lots of good eats! We kickstarted the day with Breakfast from Cheesecake Heaven for the 52 Club, sponsored by Hager! Later that day we had 500, $1 grab bags with miscellaneous goodies that employees could win. We ended the day with by hosting an ice cream sundae bar, with lots of toppings, sponsored by ABH!

Wednesday, August 23rd

Dunk tank day! The losing members of the money wars throughout the week were sent to the dunk tank. Our team got to take their chance at dunking their fellow employees or bosses. We also had a bake sale where several employees brought in impressive treats to donate. We even had door and key cut-out cookies!

Thursday, August 24th

On our final day, we hosted a taco bar lunch from Renard’s! During lunch we announced all the winners of the raffle baskets and drawings, including an airfare and PTO day drawing! LaForce and our employees raised over $30,000 throughout the week to donate to CMOHS! It was an exciting end to a fun-filled campaign!

We had several of our locations donate to local charities in their area! See below to learn more about where these locations donated!

Willowbrook

Willowbrook chose K9’s for Veterans as their charity. K9s for Veterans mission is to help veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder transition back to civilian life once their military service has ended with the help of trained service dogs.

Austin

Austin chose the Austin Diaper Bank as their charity. Austin Diaper Bank provides diapers and wipes to over 35,000 Central Texas families who struggle to afford diapers each month for their babies and children.

Minneapolis

Minneapolis chose SoWashCo CARES for their charity. SoWashCo CARES Education Foundation is a community-led nonprofit that supports the South Washington County (SoWashCo) School District community. The ultimate goal of SoWashCo CARES is to build a community that cares.

We want to extend a big thank you to all our generous sponsors and our amazing employees who made the 2023 Community Campaign such a success. One of our core values at LaForce is giving back to the community. LaForce enjoys giving back in creative and fun ways, which is what makes the Community Campaign so special to us!
