It’s our way of doing business.
LaForce is actively involved in LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design). Many of our projects are specified to be LEED-certified buildings. There are many ways we help our customers meet their goals for sustainability through the LEED rating system:
- We have an accredited LEED AP Building Design + Construction employee on staff that has processed over 1,400 LEED requests and submittals throughout the years.
- We built a database containing hundreds of vendor’s LEED statements and have developed a streamlined process that generates a clean, electronic PDF of the submittal.
- We stay abreast of the changes in the system, including LEED v4, the newest version of the LEED green building program. We continue to gain knowledge in the evolution of material transparency and life-cycle impacts.
In addition, our Continuous Improvement Business Analysts focus on lean education and process improvement, aiming to maximize efficiency and sustainable practices across the company.
We take pride in assisting customers to meet their sustainability goals.
LaForce recycles nearly 100% of our wood pallets, cardboard, aluminum, blocking, and scraps (such as steel, stainless steel, brass, and bronze). Our pre-installation service allows us to install hardware onto the doors prior to shipping. This allows us to recycle all packaging materials, which saves jobsite waste.
