Brushing Up on Installment: The Six-Step Process

Doors | Pre-Finishing

LaForce provides the best services regarding the quality of paint for our doors. The distribution process of doors and frames is efficient for LaForce customers that do not need to outsource their painting from a separate location. At LaForce, we construct the doors and frames and apply paint, an additional service provided by LaForce, to our products that will satisfy the customer’s needs.

To make the best products, all that is needed is the six-step process: priming and sanding, wiping it down, hanging it up, painting, baking, and palletizing.

  1. Priming and Sanding
    • Before the paint can be applied to any door or frame surface, it must be primed and sanded. This process helps make the surface smoother and more consistent for maximum surface coverage. It also helps repair any dents or scratches that can appear on the product.
  2.  Wiping Down
    • After the priming and sanding stages, the next step is to wipe down the door frame with a tack cloth. This is completed just prior to entering the paint booth, to provide absolute cleanliness. Wax and grease remover can be used only if it is needed for a frame.
  3. Hanging
    • After the doors are wiped down, the doors are then hung on a specialized wheeled racking before it heads to painting. The racking provides the ability to spray the entire piece at one time for best coverage and consistency.
  4. Painting
    • Painting is an additional service provided by LaForce. The paint that is used is industrial-grade and has a high-quality coating which helps prevent rust and corrosion from occurring. The frames are brought to the LaForce paint booth, which is a dust-controlled environment, that assists in removing the risk of contaminating our finishing. The paint features a customized sheen that is between a “satin” and a “flat” finish and mixed with a urethane hardener and slow reducer that both speeds up the drying process and allows the use of a paint spray gun.
  5. Baking
    • After the door and frames get a fresh coating of paint, it is then put in an oven and is baked at 180-190 degrees for 45 minutes.
  6. Palletizing
    • This includes using custom corrugated blocks for protection, banding so material does not shift in transit, and wrapping for final protection.

LaForce always paint to meet the satisfaction and expectations of our customers with customization abilities. Our paint staff is highly trained, skilled, and take great pride in their work. No product leaves the paint booth unless it can confidently adhere to LaForce’s quality standards. From steel doors and frames, LaForce wants to provide high quality products to our customers all thanks to our efficient process.
