Emplify Health by Bellin Children & Adolescent Center

LaForce partnered with Somerville and IEI to support the delivery of the Children & Adolescent Center in Green Bay, WI, a 75,000 sq. ft., two-story healthcare facility serving Emplify, ThedaCare, and Children’s Wisconsin. The center was designed to provide accessible, comprehensive care for children, adolescents, and young adults, including dedicated pediatric mental health services, in a modern and welcoming environment.

Scope and Solutions

The facility incorporates advanced EOS imaging technology, allowing for low-dose, full-body skeletal imaging, along with features that support patient experience, such as an all-inclusive outdoor playground. The overall design emphasizes safety, visibility, and long-term durability in a high-traffic pediatric setting.

LaForce was responsible for the development of the openings package and hardware specifications, ensuring all components aligned with healthcare codes, safety requirements, and the project’s design intent. The scope included hollow metal frames and hollow metal doors, as well as wood doors with factory-installed ¼ inch clear tempered glass vision lites to provide visibility and support a safe care environment. Lead-lined doors and frames were incorporated in imaging areas to meet radiation protection requirements, and exam room sliding barn doors were included to improve space efficiency and patient flow.

Door hardware was specified across the facility, including aluminum door hardware, with a focus on durability, reliability, and ease of use. In addition to openings, LaForce also addressed key accessory elements including coat racks, toilet accessories, and lock boxes, while coordinating closely with fire protection requirements to maintain full code compliance.

Project Impact

Through close collaboration with Somerville and IEI, LaForce helped deliver consistent and well-coordinated door openings and specialties package across all areas of the building. The result is a high-performing pediatric care facility where the details of the doors, frames, and hardware support both the clinical needs of the staff and the comfort and safety of the patients and families they serve.
