Door, door hardware and electrical panel

DHI Case Studies

Did you know that LaForce has had three case studies published in DHI Magazine? The following articles showcase our security and installation services, as well as how we work with our customers to develop solutions for tough and unique problems.

The Village Green Business Center

The Village Green Business Center was a complex project as it involved a multi-use property for commercial and residential use. This was a challenge because there was a variety of independent needs for both the businesses and the residents. Our Electronic Security Systems team was able to provide a variety of products for this project including electrified hardware, access control systems, key fobs and more.

Early in the project, LaForce had some interesting obstacles to overcome which allowed us to show off our creative problem-solving skills. In the end we were able to create a safe place to live and work. Read the full article.

Ripon College

When Ripon college needed an upgrade to their campus security, we were ready to help! When we joined the project Ripon’s access control software was outdated and unsupported, campus administration did not have an adequate lockdown procedure, and simple updates to the ID card system could take a day or two to execute. To add to the challenge, ten out of the 26 campus buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so new door hardware needed to complement historic aesthetics. In addition, installation happened in the summer and fall so we had to coordinate with student housing and services to ensure as little disruption as possible to the campus. Learn how we were able to develop a new system for Ripon college to help keep their students and faculty safe.

Installing a Clamshell Frame

For this project, LaForce had the unique opportunity to work with a clamshell frame to replace a door for security and safety purposes. On the fifth floor of a parking garage a door was in a dangerous position and in poor condition. This led to the recommendation of a clamshell frame, which is when the frame wraps around the already existing hollow metal frame and is welded/screwed into place. This was the right choice because it can be a quicker and safer installation, as well as limits potential damage and disruption to the customer. Learn why this unique approach to the project was the best decision, and how our installers completed the task.

All these projects are great examples of how we work with our customers to achieve solutions that are high quality, efficient, and long-lasting. But these are just the tip of the iceberg on what we can do. Our team members are experts in their fields and love a good challenge. Contact us today to see how we can help you find solutions for your projects!
