New Controller at LaForce, Inc. (June 2017)

We are pleased to announce that Eric Hansen, LaForce’s Assistant Controller, has been promoted to be the Corporate Controller. In his new role, Eric will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, contract administration, payroll, general ledger areas, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls.

Eric started at LaForce in 2014 after working at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Wipfli LLP. He attended UW-Milwaukee, where he earned his Bachelors in Accounting and Bachelors in Finance and his Masters of Science in Management, with an emphasis in Professional Accounting/Financial Reporting. He also received his CPA credential in 2011.

Josh Pascoe Receives ESGR Patriot Award (February 2017)

We are pleased to announce that Josh Pascoe has received the Patriot Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program. Josh is the Office Manager of our Indianapolis office. Details on the award and why Josh won are found in this link. Congratulations! 

Over $37,000 Donated to Local Charities (October 2016)

Every fall, employees in each LaForce office choose a local non-profit to support throughout the coming year. This is our annual Community Campaign.

This year, LaForce employees in Green Bay, WI and Austin, TX raised $20,276 for Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin – Green Bay. This organization is a vital resource for families affected by Down syndrome in our community and surrounding towns. Its mission is to “strive towards full acceptance, full access, full life, and full potential.” In addition, LaForce made a corporate donation to match the employee donation 2:1 after expenses, bringing the total donation to DSAW to $28,437.95.

Other Wisconsin charities that benefited from this campaign, thanks to local office efforts, include Feeding America in Appleton, Second Harvest Food Bank in Madison, and Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. In addition, the Cincinnati, OH team raised funds for V Foundation for Cancer Research; the Columbus, OH team fundraised for Mid-Ohio Food Bank; and the Detroit, MI team donated to Kids Kicking Cancer. LaForce's two Chicago locations teamed up and donated money to Greater Chicacgo ALS. Finally, employees in Indianapolis, IN raised money for Gary Brackett's Impact Foundation and the team in Phoenix, AZ donated to Operation Enduring Warrior.

We could not have achieved these results without our community partners that provided giveaways and prizes to support fundraising efforts. Thank you!

Managerial Promotions at LaForce (July 2016)

We are pleased to announce that Josh Pascoe has been promoted to Office Manager of our Indianapolis office, and Tim Sizer has been promoted to Office Manager of our Columbus office. These men are great leaders who will continue to contribute to the long-term success and stability of LaForce. Congratulations!

LaForce Wins Manufacturing Award (November 2015)

We are pleased to announce that we were recently awarded the 2015 Manufacturing Awards of Distinction, sponsored by the Green Bay Chamber and the Advance Business and Manufacturing center. The Manufacturing Awards of Distinction program honors companies that have achieved excellence in manufacturing, and LaForce won in the large category for business with more than 300 employees. The awards are also designed to recognize the valuable role that manufacturing companies play in strengthening the local economy. It is a tremendous opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of employees who have contributed to their company’s success in the past year.

LaForce Recognized for Charity Donations (October 2015)

LaForce employees have once again been generous with their time and money during the company’s annual Community Campaign. The Green Bay team raised over $18,000 to benefit two local charities: Take 'Em Outdoors​ and Friends of Bay Beach.

Part of LaForce’s mission is to give back to the community. During their fall fundraising drive, LaForce employees engaged in a number of on-site activities, including games, food, and a raffle that featured donations from a number of local partners. 

Other LaForce locations engaged in fundraising efforts that focussed on their local communities. Milwaukee team members raised money for Hunger Task Force and Madison employees pooled resources for Second Harvest Food Bank. LaForce employees in Vernon Hills and Willowbrook raised money for ALS Great Chicago Chapter, while the Detroit location chose Habitat for Humanity of Oakland City. The Phoenix location fundraised for Cure SMA and the Appleton location raised money for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Finally, the Columbus and Cincinnati locations teamed up to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

In total, LaForce employees raised over $23,000 throughout the 2015 Community Campaign.

Door and Hardware Institute Honors Ken Metzler (July 2015)

Ken Metzler thumbnailLaForce is proud to announce that Ken Metzler was chosen to be the recipient of the 2015 Founder’s Award from the Door and Hardware Institute (DHI)! The following is an article written about Ken, the award, and LaForce:

“The Founder’s Award is the Institutes highest and most prestigious award that recognizes significant and outstanding technical expertise and/or service to the Institute or to the architectural openings industry over an extended period of time. Recipients shall have contributed to the industry in such a way as to render them role models to other members of the industry.

Ken’s service to the DHI Board of Directors, his guidance as DHI President during one of the most turbulent times in our industry, and his leadership in positioning LaForce, Inc. as a progressive industry leader in distribution has earned him this well-deserved recognition. His vision for DHI has transformed the strategic direction of the organization today. LaForce, Inc., has earned a reputation as an industry trendsetter that advances life safety and security in numerous vertical markets such as healthcare and schools. This effort has made for a safer society.
